In Comilla, seven people were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident

Seven people, including two members of the same family, were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Nuritala under Chandina upazila. More than 15 people were injured. The accident occurred at 12 noon on Sunday.
 


Among the dead were a child, two women and four men. Four of them have been identified. They are - Golap Khan (60) and his wife Anwara Begum (55), son of Bamanamuddin of Khalilpur village under Debibbara upazila of Comilla, and Oman expatriate Mohammad Abdul Mannan of Jessore village of Comilla Model Sadar upazila. Jasim Uddin, 35, Sujon, 22, son of Shahjahan of Chandir Baminokhola village. The injured were admitted to different hospitals in Comilla.
 
Police and witnesses said that the bus of Tisha Paribahan, a Dhaka-bound bus from Companyganj, Comilla was going on unnecessarily. The bus receded in a ditch in Nurtila and turned down in the ditch after losing control. Five people were killed in the incident. Later, after taking the victim to Chandina Upazila Health Complex, duty doctor declared two more dead.
 
Meanwhile, firefighters at Chandina Fire Station, Chandina Police Station, highway police teams and locals took part in the rescue operation. Highway Police Superintendent (Comilla Purbanchal) Paritosh Ghosh along with highway police officials visited the site after receiving the news of the accident.
