.Start selling OMS rice at Tk 30

In order to provide low prices to low-income people, officially open market (OMS) rice has started selling since Sunday. Extortion of rice is being sold at Tk 30 per kg at divisional and district levels including capital Dhaka. A buyer can purchase 5 kg of rice. The government thinks that the price of rice will be reduced in open market as OMS rice starts selling.

 Tapan Kumar Das, Chief Controller of Food Department's Rationing Department said, "OMS rice has started selling from today morning for supply of rice at a relatively low price among the common people. Hopefully this will reduce the price of rice in the open market. '
 He said that rice will be sold in full 806 OMS centers. In this, people of 179 flooded areas will get this rice at low prices. Rice will be available at 109 OMS centers in the capital. BSS
